
Nick Nakorn was born in
Essex in 1956. At 15 he was awarded the Henry Moore Apprentice Prize for
sculpture. After a brief spell as a set designer and graphic artist he spent
nearly ten years in the advertising and marketing industry. In the early
1980s He ran a small classic car restoration business and crewed for the
Aston Martin Group C Endurance Racing Team. An environmental campaigner
from 1977, Nick gained a 1st class science degree in 1990 before
becoming a full time environmentalist for the first local government
environment unit in the country; based at Watford Council. He was made a
Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and Commerce for services to energy
conservation & community development in 1995. Nick served on the
Parliamentary Alternative Energy Committee and the United Nations Local
Agenda 21 committee for county-scale sustainable development and was a
senior environmental consultant for The Groundwork Trust. For the last few
years he has worked as a self-employed woodlands contractor and handyman.
Nick has been writing poetry, songs, plays and screenplays for some years
and has performed poetry at a number of venues in the South West and in
London. He has had theatre and music pieces performed at the Watford Palace
Theatre and the Barbican Theatre in Plymouth and is developing film,
theatre and music projects. Nick plays keyboard in a blues band and his
poetry is published in number of anthologies in the UK and the United
States. Since 1982 Nick’s career has been interrupted from time to time by
depressive illness and a recurring lung disorder from which he is currently
recovering. He lives in South Devon.

the world in 1977. I started as an office junior in the
advertising department and soon became a copywriter and graphic

breakaway company from Readers Union. A Designer, copywriter, and
business development manager. I was offered a Directorship in 1979. I

I have a daughter and very much enjoy domestic life.
We try and visit our family in Thailand as much as money allows and a documentary
